renounce all sin and vice, dream of the perfect life

I've been doing strange things lately. like... running. for fun. I don't understand it, either.

Marie Antoinette could have been vastly improved by less pastry and more guillotine. however, the Awkward Sex was kind of hilarious and the costumes, well, yes.

10-minute contour-ish pencil drawing of my mother, who couldn't even sit still for that long.

go, if you want to )

the Cure's new(ish, by which I mean 'released nearly three years ago) is quite good, actually. heavy on the bass, heavy on the angsty eyeliner'ed anguish that we all love so much. but then again, I love pretty much anything that Fat Bob puts out. OH! back on to Marie Antoinette for a minute, the soundtrack was fecking brilliant, it had Gang of Four for the opening credits, which shocked me, and Siouxsie and the Cure and New Order and Aphex Twin and fliffy classical elsewhere. really, really great.

off to the Renaissance Faire again on the morrow avec mes beaux amies! am looking to buy some perfume oil this time. unfortunately, I haven't really anything to wear, because the old-fashioned bits of my wardrobe (by which I mean most of it) tend towards the style of Uppity Victorian Male rather than Saucy Renaissance Wench. oh well, I can go as Oscar Wilde in a time machine.

drive-by artpost!

Have I posted this already? I don't think so.

Guildenstern goes '...UH?' )

Also, my hour-long Hamlet presentation went splendidly and contained dramatic sockpuppet stylings, (Claudius, killer of kings and smarmy seducer of women, narrated my life for the rest of the day) and also am fairly certain that I'm the only person that has used the word "cojones" in reference to Hamlet in the history of this class.

Finished the feet painting. Started another one. ffnkfnkldas;jd.

Had a really great evening. Going to bed now.

there's always someone somewhere with a big nose who knows

...am so drained that I can't even think of an opening line. Which may be an issue, considering.

So it's time for Kat's annual "tell me what to write about in November" poll!

keats and yeats are on your side )

I'm so stupid, there's no way I'm pulling this off.

I'm glad my friends are so intensely cool, because Leah has gotten the most awesome piercing in the history of histories. Never have I seen something like this.

Finished one painting, started another.
Self portrait, in the style of Picasso's blue period, oils. I LOVE OILS, except cleaning the brush is nigh impossible and mine are always gross and squishy-like the next day.

while wilde is on mine )

It's still plagued by a few tenacious flaws, but mostly I'm happy with it and can't bring myself to work on it anymore, anyway.

"from the tortures of my own heart, I turned to contemplate the deep and voiceless grief..."

if Victor Frankenstein wrote poetry:

my life,
it is sad.
my monster,
it is bad.

Dear UASC crew heads/stage managers/directors,

Quit. Bickering. I am damn sick and tired of mediating your stupid little disputes over who has what title. Please just stop hating everyone else for a month and a half so that we can pull off the show. Also, quitting because you don't get what you want? ENORMOUSLY SELFISH. Shove your self-absorption to the side for a bit, pull your cranium out of your rectal cavity, and do your damn job.

Affectionately,
Kat
